Maria & Amin - A Pittsburgh Wedding

Pittsburgh, USA is a beautiful and charming city. I get the impression that it doesn't always get the attention and respect that I think it deserves. There is so much to love about Pittsburgh: it's leafy hills, handsome neighbourhoods and impressive skyline. That's not to mention the three rivers and 400 odd bridges that both cut and connect this fascinating place. Ultimately though, all I really care about is people and everybody I met in Pittsburgh, both socially and out and about, was so generous and friendly. I left reluctantly but with a warm feeling in my heart.
Maria and Amin married outdoors at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh. For somebody from the UK an outdoor celebration was a sweet novelty. That said, we're enjoying quite a summer over here this year. It was a stunning location. The backdrop of verdant hills to one side and city's skyscrapers and yellow bridges that garnish the Monongahela River to the other. This all contrived to add a splash of class to what already promised to be a magical occasion.
Maria and Amin are two quite stunning people and to witness their marriage was a privilege. Rarely have I met a couple who seem so perfect for each other. All of this was reflected on this wedding day, it was such a happy, touching and fun occasion.
I could happily handle shooting weddings in Pittsburgh a good few times a year. The opportunities for making great pictures seems endless. As you can see from the below images, the emphasis was on a documentary style of photography. Although I enjoy making the more formal and traditional shots, it is a great thrill to just hang back and soak up the atmosphere of the day and let this bleed into my photography.
